Despite enduring a month's rainfall, reducing play to 9 holes on Day 1, this was the scene that greeted 90 players on the first tee at Alwoodley Golf Club at 8 am on Day 2.

An uncharacteristic 44 over the front 9 on Day 1 saw Wales's Nigel Evans (St Mellons GC) out early on Day 2, and looking for revenge; he did not disappoint. 

A field leading 71 (1 under par) had the pack chasing him home. It took until the last flight for Ian Attoe (Worplesdon GC) and Keith Davies (Chelmsford GC) to overhaul him, winning Gold & Sliver with 112 and 114 to Nigel's 115.

The Handicap Trophy went to the UKSGA's newest member, Nigel Clowes (Clitheroe GC), with 111 net. What a nice way to join a new golfing community!
